Enrico Intra

Pianist, composer, arranger and conductor, among the most important ones in the history of European jazz, Enrico Intra has developed a poetics aiming at the encounter between the most exquisitely jazz language and contemporary music of a cultured matrix, and for this reason he was among the first Italian musicians to develop a “European” concept of jazz. Nuova Civiltà suite, certainly one of his best-known compositions, often also interpreted by Gerry Mulligan, deeply combines blues and tradition, adhering to the most radical trends of the music scene. 

A challenge to established formal and expressive schemes.

という概念を現した最初の人物なのです。 Nuova Civiltà は確かにイントラの作曲のうち最も有名なものの一つで、たびたびジェリー・マリガンによってカバーもされましたし、深いつながりと伝統を重ね合わせ、ブルースとの本物のつながりが浸透していて、音楽シーンの最も革新的な傾向を支持しています。確立された形式的な表現のスキームに対しての挑戦なのです。
